With the transfer market already slam shut the clubs are looking towards the business end of the season and looking to end the season on a high. The same can't be said about a particular club in la liga which has gone from a bad transfer policy to probably one of the worst transfer policies in the world. The club started the season with 4 centre backs 2 of which were good(mostly fit) starters, the 3rd player is great but highly injury prone.
The 4th player is a good fit young player and has potential to grow through the season. During the end of the transfer window barcelona signed no defender and sent their fit young defender on loan and now have only 3 defenders of which only 2 were present to actively play of which one was sent off during the end minutes of the game. This puts barcelona at a back foot as they have no options at the back and one injury will mess up the whole back line.
Pique who is a veteran and one of the best barcelona players in the last decade has been declining and isn't having had a good season. The senior players haven't been on top of their game which is also a cause for concern.
At the end the main problem remains, what were the Barcelona board planning to do this transfer window and what did they accomplish? The team was arguably better at the start of the window compared to now after the january transfer when there has been no acquisitions and a lot of young players have left. This puts a lot of pressure for the new manager and no proper backup for the defensive players.
