Why Manchester City will win the English premier league 2019-2020

Manchester city are starting the season as favourites for the English premier league they are challenged by Liverpool who won the champions league last season. Last season the premier league experienced one of the best title races in a while with Manchester city just edging Liverpool by a point. The battle raged on till the last matchday of the premier league and city were finally crowned as the champions.

This season however Liverpool have not strengthened and it wouldn't be wrong to say they don't have the same type of bench strength as Manchester City and it looked more like Liverpool overperformed last season. They had a lot of lucky breaks last season such as the late winner against everton which was caused by a goalkeeping howler by Jordan Pickford and a lot of penalty calls going there way. They were also assisted by the refs mistake such as failing to give a blatant offside. These incidents would not be possible this season due to the application of VAR.

Liverpool would hope to challenge Man city again this season but not bolstering the squad was a massive mistake. The problem would start if any of their front three or Van dijk got injured. They don't have the same calibre players to replace them and it would really put pressure on Klopp and his tactics . Knowing that Kevin de Bruyne is returning to city after an injury crisis last season City would be stronger than ever and they have enough quality players on the bench to back up their first 11

Goalkeepers are the biggest part of a defence and a strong goalkeeper means a strong backline. They are the last line of defence and a strong team needs a strong goalkeeper. Let's look at the current top goalkeepers in the world. 10. Andre Onana: AndrĂ© Onana (born 2 April 1996) is a young Cameroonian international football player who plays for Dutch club Ajax and also the Cameroon national team, as a goalkeeper. Last year in the eredivisie he had 15 clean sheets in 33 games and also had a good champions league run. 9. David de gea: David de gea has had a massive drop off in the last season he had a terrible 2018-19 season keeping as low as 7 clean sheets and conceding a massive 51 goals in the Epl. Though the blame has also to be shifted on united's shaky backline which was shambolic to say the least. Though the keeper himself made a lot of errors we expect de gea to bounce back this season.     8. Samir Handanovic:         ...
